IUP golfer wins NCAA D-II

Gavin Smith, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, won the NCAA Division-II national individual title. He tied with Kelbi Lee, Ferris State (Michigan) at 289, (76-69-70-74), then holed an 18-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to win the title. Smith, a junior, is from Stirling, Scotland. His IUP team finished 12th in a field of nineteen teams. The winning team was Sonoma State, California.
