Fred W. George, a member of the WPGA Executive Committee,
2003-05, passed away on June 12 after battling ALS for five
years. A member at Oakmont, George was a partner at the law
firm of Eckert Seamans, Pittsburgh, until his retirement in
2006.
He was a 1972 graduate of Virginia Tech, and at Georgetown
University law school, he received a JD in 1976 and a
Master's of Law in Taxation in 1978. Among his honors and
achievements was being named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in
2007. As a member of the WPGA's "official family," he
provided invaluable legal assistance to the WPGA Scholarship
Fund on financial and tax matters.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
