Sean Knapp, Oakmont, shot 71-71--142 in the USGA Amateur Public Links Championship at the Jimmie Austin/Oklahoma University Golf Course in Norman, to qualify for match play.  His two under par total on the 7289 yards/par 72 course resulted in his tying for 6th place as the cut was at 149.  Temperatures at Norman have been at or over 100 degrees throughout the championship.

Knapp's first round opponent is Eddie Olson, Aptos, CA, who qualified at 149.  Olson, a recent graduate of University of Nevada--Las Vegas, is a highly ranked collegiate player with several strong USGA performances over the years.  They play at 9:39 CST.
