Allshouse wins Sunnehanna Senior

Bob Allshouse, Greensburg, won the Sunnehanna Senior
Invitational, September 14-16, in a playoff with Pete Allen.
The pair tied at 220, Allshouse with 72-73-75, while Allen
carded 78-71-71, and Allshouse won the first extra hole with
a par. Don Erickson, DuBois and Chick Wagner, Pittsburgh,
tied for 5th at 224, while Jim Walters, Central City, who
led after two rounds, was 8th at 226, and Tony Bertini,
Windber, was 9th at 227. The fifth edition of this
competition drew 48 players, many who had previously
qualified for the USGA Senior Amateur Championship, which
was played during the same time.
The Super Senior Division, 65 & over, was won by Rich
Anderson with 74-73-71--218. Bill Spadafora, Indiana, was
second with 77-74-76--227. Other area golfers in this flight
were Phil Saylor, Johnstown (234), John McMurdy, Indiana
(244), and Gary McQuone (258), in a field of 21 players.
