The Pennsylvania Golf
Association has selected Sean Knapp, Mike Van Sickle, and
Nathan Smith as their team for the USGA State Team
Championship. The 54-hole format of three players count two
scores per round will be played September 23-25 at the
Country Club of Albans in St. Louis on the club's Lewis &
Clark Course.
The trio have won several recent state championships: Knapp,
this year's Public Links and Mid-Amateur, Smith, this year's
Jay Sigel Match Play and Amateur, and Van Sickle, the Open
in 2007 and 2008 and the 2008 Amateur. They enter the
competition as one of the team favorites.
