Nathan Smith, 72-68--140, tied for medalist, Sean Knapp,
72-74--146, and Arnold Cutrell, 77-72--149, qualified for
match play in the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship at the
Kiawah Island Club in South Carolina. The cut was 150 for
the playoff.
Carol Semple Thompson, 81-80--161, advanced into the
64-player draw in the USGA Women's Amateur at Golden Hills
GC, Ocala, Florida. The cut was 162.
All four face first round opponents on Monday morning. If
Knapp and Cutrell win, they play each other in the second
round.
