Knapp, Strickler, win PA Public Links titles

Area golfers are off to another strong start in Pennsylvania Golf Association individual championships. Dave Brown, St. Clair, won the Jay Sigel Match Play earlier this month.

In the PA Public Links played at Hickory Valley in Gilbertsville on May 15-16, Sean Knapp, Oakmont, won his second straight title since becoming eligible for public links championships with 74-70--144, a one stroke margin over Dan Charen and Thomas Timby. Altoona's Artie Fink tied for 15th with 80-75--155.

In the senior division, Ed Strickler, Huntington, shot 75-72--147, to win by four strokes over Andy Tompos and Fred Riley.
