Alumnus wills Scholarship Fund $29K

Richard Heckel, 1932-2010, caddied at Edgewood, received a WPGA Scholarship in 1950, attended Carnegie Mellon University, graduating in 1954. He passed away this spring. An engineering professor at Michigan Tech University in the state's Upper Peninsula for many years, Heckel annually supported the WPGA Scholarship Fund and regularly communicated with the Association via notes or phone calls. The Scholarship Fund received more than $29,000 from his estate, one of the largest individual donations in the Fund's history.
