In anticipation of a significant change
to the USGA Handicap System that will be mandatory beginning
on January 1, 2012, the WPGA has adopted the principles of
the National Revision Schedule for the 2011 calendar year.
This move aligns the association with the regional and state
golf associations it overlaps throughout the north east.
Revisions will occur on the 1st and
15th of each month. Transmission dates remain the day before
the revision effective date.
WPGA Member Clubs should plan
accordingly regarding club events. Though it is recommended
to use a member's Handicap Index in effect on the day of the
competition round or rounds, the committee in charge of the
competition must ultimately make this decision in advance.
The committee may decide to insert a stipulation that the
Handicap Index to be used will be as of a certain date in
order to allow staff time to properly administer the event.
