Washington, PA, native Steve Wheatcroft, winner of the 2004 PNC West Penn Open, shot 67-70-66-72--275, t-13, in the Nationwide Tour's first event of the season. The competition, February 24-27, was played at Club de Golf de Panama in the Republic of Panama.   Wheatcroft earned $10,633. He finished six strokes behind the winner, Matthew Goggin.

Wheatcroft played the PGA Tour last year for the second time; he did not retain his card. He earned 2010 PGA Tour playing privileges due to his 2009 finish on the Nationwide Tour money list. Over the last few years, he divided his time between the PGA and Nationwide Tours.
