| Vander Borght named to
USGA Rules position |

John Vander Borght, who served as the WPGA's Membership and
Championship Director, 2003-07, two years in each post, was
recently selected as the USGA's Manager, Rules
Communications, a staff position. He begins his duties at
the USGA's headquarters in Far Hills, New Jersey, on April
1.
Vander Borght, a highly renowned Rules of Golf expert, will
manage and oversee communication of information about the
Rules of Golf, including the Rules blog at the US Open,
develop rules education curricula and materials, teach Rules
workshops, and assist at USGA Championships.
Since leaving the WPGA, Vander Borght was employed by the
Northern California Golf Association in junior championship
programs and Rules of Golf education. Vander Borght, a
member of the USGA Mid-Amateur Committee for more than a
decade, has officiated at numerous USGA championships, such
as Opens, Amateurs, Women's Amateurs, and Senior Opens. His
prior experience also includes a stint as a Tournament
Official on the Futures Tour, a women's developmental
competition series.
