Washington, PA, native Steve Wheatcroft destroyed the field during the Nationwide Tour's Melwood Prince George's Open at the University of Maryland GC, College Park. He shot 66-60-65-64--255. He set two records in the process:  255 is the lowest 72-hole score in Nationwide Tour history, and his victory margin of twelve broke the previous record of eleven. It was the 2004 West Penn Open champion's first win on the Nationwide Tour.

Finshing in a tie for second was Indiana, PA's Jon Mills, with 67-67-68-65--267.

Wheatcroft won $108,000, while Mills' check was $52K.
