Knapp wins "new" trophy

When Sean Knapp, Oakmont, beat Venetia's Jon Ross, in a playoff on July 11 in the WPGA Public Links Championship at The Club at Shadow Lakes, the win was his seventh different WPGA championship title. Knapp has won 15 Fred Brand Foursomes with three different partners (Steve Fuhrer, Jeff Schroeder, and Nathan Smith), seven Amateurs, seven Mid-Amateurs, two Spring Invitationals, at least one Jamison Cup medalist, a Four-Ball with Steve Fuhrer, and the Public Links.  This is a total of 34 victories spanning 23 years, with his first being the 1988 West Penn Amateur at Green Oaks.
