Butler's Rob McClellan, winner of the West Penn Open at
Nevillewood last month, added the Tri-State PGA's Section
Championship title to his collection on August 15-16. He
recorded 65-70--135 at Allegheny to beat John Aber from the
host site by three strokes.
Winning the West Penn Open and the Tri-State Section
championships in the same year is a rare feat. Five time
West Penn Open winner Roy Vucinich notched them both in
1977, while1954 US Open champion Ed Furgol achieved this in
1965.
