When the Association assembled its team for the annual Palmer Cup Match with the Tri-State PGA Section, five of its top seven Honor Roll players accepted. All of them, Sean Knapp, David Brown, Nathan Sutherland, Nathan Smith, and C.G. Mercatoris, IV, recorded 2-0 tallies with victories in both Singles and Four-Ball matches. This performance led the WPGA to a 10-7 victory at Latrobe CC on September 30. Others scoring points were Ron DeNunzio in singles, Perry Graciano partnered with Brown in the age 50-54 Four-Ball match, and the senior team of John Rodney & Gary VanSickle in Four-Ball. Singles wins were particularly impressive as the five beat the likes of John Aber, Rob McClellan, Kevin Shields, Ryan Sikora, and Gordon Vietmeier.

After losing to the Section for two decades, the last five years have been competitive with each team winning two matches plus a tie.

The event is enhanced by the continued support and presence of Arnold Palmer.
