Bill Fallon, Oakmont, A WPGA championship and USGA committee
member, has been nominated to serve a one-year term on the
USGA Executive Committee. He begins his appointment early in
2012 at the USGA Annual Meeting.
Fallon joins an exclusive group from Western Pennsylvania
who have served on the USGA's governing body. The list
includes former Presidents, William C. Fownes, Oakmont,
1926-27; and Harton S. "Bud" Semple, Allegheny; 1974-75;
plus Executive Committee members, Fred Brand, Jr, Oakmont
and Pittsburgh Field Club, 1959-69; James F. Burke,
Allegheny, 1923-26; Eben Byers, Allegheny, 1905; J. Frederic
Byers, Allegheny, 1950-58; John K. Mahaffey, Oakmont,
1976-80; Carol Semple Thompson, Allegheny, 1994-2000.
