| Wheatcroft gains PGA

Washington, PA, native Steve Wheatcroft, finished t-8 in the
Nationwide Tour Championship October 27-30, the season's
final event, shooting 68-75-71-71--285 on the Ralston Creek
Course at Daniel Island Club, Charleston, South
Carolina. His winnings of $225,054 for the season were 20th
on the money list. More importantly Wheatcroft will have
playing privileges on the PGA Tour next season, his third
appearance; the other two years were 2007 and 2010. Wheatcroft's
season included a victory on the Nationwide Tour that
featured on round of 60. In his five seasons on either the
Nationwide or PGA Tour since 2007, Wheatcroft has won over
$1.1 million.
Other players with local roots on the Nationwide Tour
include Jon Mills, Indiana, who was 71st on the money list
with $83,048, and Brendon Todd with $60,035 and 84th on the
money list. Todd played as a youngster at Rolling Hills,
McMurray, until his familty moved to Charlotte, NC.
Mills and Todd are scheduled to compete in the upcoming PGA
Tour Qualifying Schools Second Stage.
