Paul Schlachter named Senior Player of the Year

For the third straight season, Paul Schlachter, Bridgeville, was the WPGA's Senior Amateur Player of the Year. Free from illness and injury for the first time in three seasons, the Nevillewood member dominated senior golf with wins in the WPGA Senior Amateur and Pennsylvania Senior Amateur, runner-up in the Pennsylvania Mid-Amateur, and reaching the third round of the USGA Senior Amateur.

Rounding out the Honor Roll were John Benson, Punxsutawney, in his first season of senior amateur golf, Bill Baloh, Herminie, Senior Amateur Player of the Year, 1999-2003, and three golfers from Hannastown GC at 4-6, Bob Allshouse, David DeNezza, and Mike McGuire.
