Schlachter second in Gateway Senior

Paul Schlachter, Bridgeville, continued his strong showings in senior amateur golf with a second place finish in the Gateway Senior Invitational, at Gateway G&CC, Fort Myers, Florida, January 7-9. Schlachter, the WPGA’s Senior Amateur Player of the Year for the past four seasons, carded 72-73-73 - 218, as he finished second to Mike Bell, Indianapolis. Bell, the 2006 USGA Senior Amateur champion, shot 71-68-74 - 213, for a five stroke margin.

Also competing in this event conducted by the Society of Seniors, was Bob Allshouse, Greensburg, who shot 81-80-76 - 237, which was tied for 42nd.
