Sam Saunders, Arnold Palmer's grandson, fired a 65 in the pressure packed final round to secure playing privileges on the 2014 Tour. The final stage was played in Palm Springs, California, at PGA West on the Stadium and Nicklaus courses, December 12-17.

Saunders recorded 68-75-70-64-71-65--413, tying for 11th place, easily qualifying with a 19-under par tally. The cut for full privileges came at 420. Saunders, 26, who played collegiate golf at Clemson University, now resides in Fort Collins, Colorado.

More than 1000 golfers including nearly ten with area ties, entered the qualifying schools, which included four stages. Forty players and ties secured full privileges, and another sixty gained status for tournaments in the final stage.

Washington native Steve Wheatcroft, the 2004 West Penn Open champion, will return to the Tour in 2014 with full status.
