Isaly’s Added as Sponsor of WPGA Women’s Amateur Championships
By WPGA • March 18, 2019
The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association is pleased to announce Isaly's as the sponsor of this year’s Women’s Amateur Championships.
First played in 1999 as a competition for women’s club champions from WPGA Member Clubs, the Isaly’s Women's Amateur Championship was opened in 2004 to all female WPGA Members who meet the Handicap Index eligibility requirement. In 2008, however, the event was discontinued. The WPGA brought back the Isaly's Women's Amateur Championship in 2017 along with the addition of the Isaly's Women’s Senior Amateur Championship and the Isaly's Women’s Super-Senior Amateur Championship.
The new sponsorship with Isaly’s will certainly elevate the prestige of the event as a part of its resurgence. “Isaly’s has a long history as a recognizable household brand in western Pennsylvania, and we are excited to have them on board in 2019,” said Terry Teasdale, the WPGA’s Executive Director.
Isaly’s story dates back to the early 1900’s and they have become most famously known for their signature “Original Chipped Chopped Ham”.
The Isaly’s 12th Women’s Amateur Championship, Isaly’s 3rd Women’s Senior Amateur Championship, and Isaly’s 3rd Women’s Super-Senior Amateur will all be contested on August 5th at Fox Chapel Golf Club.
Registration is now open for any of the three championships.
