The 9th green at Shepherd's Rock, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort

WPGA Play Day Registration is Now Open
By WPGA • April 1, 2019

WPGA Members can now register for the increasingly popular WPGA Play Days. The current schedule features 15 confirmed dates and venues and the list will continue to grow. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA (Mystic Rock course or Shepherd’s Rock course) is set to host the first WPGA Play Day of 2019 on April 29th, and the season will end at Bedford Springs Resort (Bedford, PA) on October 15th.

Some familiar sites will host again in 2019. Green Oaks Country Club (Verona, PA) has WPGA Play Days scheduled in both the Spring and the Fall. Williams Golf & Country Club (Weirton, WV) and Willowbrook Country Club (Apollo, PA) will host back-to back Play Days on May 29th and June 5th, respectively. Two new venues have been added for 2019 – Hill Crest Country Club (Lower Burrell, PA) on June 18th and Sinking Valley Country Club on August 15th (Altoona, PA).

At just $45 dollars per player, unless otherwise noted, the main goal of WPGA Play Days is to give WPGA Members of any skill level a chance to explore different WPGA Member Clubs at an affordable rate in an enjoyable, relaxed, and non-competitive environment. Unlike a competition, players can pick their group and tee time and select the tee markers they would like to play from.

To register, visit the “Event Registration” tab and find WPGA Play Days under the “Event Schedules” drop down menu. WPGA Members can also sign up and bring one guest; a GHIN number is not required for the guest. Once registered, players can call the club no sooner than one week in advance of the WPGA Play Day to set up their tee time. The payment for the scheduled round will be made at the host club and includes cart fees.

Players who are looking to join the WPGA need a Handicap Index® issued by an existing WPGA Member Club or an Association-sponsored Type 3 Golf Club.

The Play Day schedule will continue to grow as the golf season continues, so be sure to follow the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for those updates.
