The Western
Pennsylvania Golf Association is the steward of amateur golf in western Pennsylvania; an association of Member
Clubs and their individual members working together for the good of
the game. The Association was founded by five Pittsburgh clubs in
1899 and is one of the oldest amateur golf associations in the country.
The
Association's primary missions are Championship,
Handicapping, and Membership
Services. It also administers the WPGA
Scholarship Fund to provide tuition assistance to employees of Member Clubs.
Educational programs are offered every year to our growing
membership in a variety of areas and formats.
The affairs and property of the Association are directed by an Executive
Committee composed of members from WPGA Member Clubs. It is supported by
many volunteers.
To conduct daily business, the Association employees a small
full-time staff with offices in the Fox Chapel area just north
of Pittsburgh. Any golf club is welcome to become a Member Club
of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association
