LATROBE – Historic Latrobe Country Club will play host to the second Senior Series competition of the 2025 WPGA season.

The competition will feature 64 golfers playing 18 holes of Stableford Stroke Play across three divisions: Senior, Super-Senior, and Net.

In April, the WPGA Senior Series #1 event was held at Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, where Arnold Cutrell, Jeff Hovanec and JJ Labella emerged as division champions.

Cutrell secured the Senior Division title with an impressive even-par score of 70, winning by four strokes. Last week, Cutrell claimed the 101st WPGA Father & Son Championship, as well.

Hovanec, who had celebrated his 65th birthday just a day before the event, took first in the Super Senior Division with a 4-over score of 74.

Labella claimed the Net Division title, carding a Net-adjusted 4-over score of 74 to edge out the competition.

The WPGA Senior Series will conclude with its third and final event at Montour Heights Country Club on August 27, 2025.

Wednesday’s Senior Series competition will be the only of the three to feature Stableford scoring, a system where points are awarded on each hole, and the player with the highest number of points wins the event.

Starting times will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and run through 12:10 p.m.

Bob Crnjarich, who claimed the 2025 WPGA Semple Century Foursomes Championship, will be in the first group off the first tee.

At 8:50 a.m., Cutrell will be in a strong group that features nine-time WPGA Amateur Champion Sean Knapp, as well as Rob Stops. Hovanec will tee off at 9:50 a.m. alongside Rod Piatt. Labella will play in a group with Dale Flohr and a two-time Senior Series winner in 2024, Pat Petit.

Other 2024 Senior Series winners Craig Sabo, Todd Renner and Paul Bangor will all compete, as well.
