GREENSBURG — David Brown has been no stranger to the WPGA winner’s circle throughout his career.

Brown, a three-time WPGA Amateur champion and four-time WPGA Senior Amateur champion, took the top spot at Monday’s WPGA Senior Series #1 event at Hannastown Golf Club.

In a playoff, Brown edged his playing partner for the day, reigning WPGA Senior Amateur champion Artie Fink, to take the Senior Division at 5-over.

Under sunny skies and with a steady breeze that picked up during the afternoon, Mark Johnson, Rex Pagani and Bruce Lawson all tied for third place in the Senior Division at 10-over.

In the Super-Senior Division, Alan English survived a late charge from Ron Hinish, taking the title with a 9-over score of 79.

Hinish, along with Dan Reid, shot 10-over to tie for second place, while Stan Namola finished fourth at 11-over.

The Net Division finished with two players atop the leaderboard, as Robert Strom won a scorecard playoff over Pat Petit after shooting a Net score of 5-over. Strom shot a gross score of 89, adjusted to 75.

Jeffrey Jeglinski and John Glomb tied for third at 9-over.

Two more WPGA Senior Series events are scheduled for later this summer, including July 29 at Latrobe Country Club and August 27 at The Country Club of Meadville. Registration is open for both competitions.
