GROVE CITY — The WPGA Women's Triple Play returns Monday to Grove City Country Club for the third edition of the team competition.
Introduced in 2024, the Women's Triple Play has continued to grow over its first three years.
After featuring 80 players in its inaugural competition and 88 players a year ago, this year's event will feature a full field of 96 players and 24 teams.
The competition format is 18 holes of variable net team stroke play, with teams of four players. Scoring is Best 1 ball of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 1 thru 6, Better 2 balls of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 7 thru 12, and Better 3 balls of 4 on Stroke Index Holes 13 thru 18
The competition is open to all female amateur golfers residing in the Western Pennsylvania region, with a Handicap Index® and with membership at a WPGA Member Club.
Three members of last year's winning team will return Monday, as Judith Mazzitelli, Madeline Wahl and Mary Ann Howard will compete alongside Tiffany Reed.
The trio helped capture the Net Division title a year ago with Rebecca Matscherz, posting a combined net score of 12-under.
Also returning is the team of Caitlin Ross, Danielle Proctor, Kathryn Katawczik and Kristina Sandherr.
The foursome finished runner-up in the Net Division last year while capturing the Gross Division title.
Play will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
