PITTSBURGH – The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association and Special Olympics Pennsylvania are set to launch All Abilities Golf Clinics, bringing instruction and an inclusive environment to the region's adaptive community.

The first Golf Clinic is scheduled for April 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Topgolf Pittsburgh in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.

The clinic, which will feature hands-on instruction for aspiring golfers of any skill or experience level, is a complimentary event for players thanks to the support of Morgan Stanley.

All Abilities & Adaptive Golf is one of the fastest-growing athletic outlets for players dealing with a wide variety of disabilities and impairments. Using modified rules and with the aid of specific equipment, adaptive golfers are able to play the game of golf in both competitive and recreational environments.

In adaptive golf competitions, golfers are assigned to impairment categories, including extremity impairments, seated players, visual impairments, intellectual impairments, short stature and more.

The USGA is set to host the 5th U.S. Adaptive Open this summer in Rockville, Md. The U.S. Adaptive Open brings together players from across the world to compete for a national championship and is one of many adaptive competitions being contested throughout the country each year.

Complimentary food and drinks will be provided to all in attendance.
