FARMINGTON — Mystic Rock at Nemacolin will welcome a large field Tuesday, as it hosts a qualifying round for the 45th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.

85 players are set to compete in the qualifier, which will award three spots into the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship next month in Wisconsin. Two alternate spots will be secured, as well.

Play will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the final group teeing off at 12:10 p.m.

Several notable Western Pennsylvanian’s will compete Tuesday, including three-time WPGA Mid-Amateur champion Ian Bangor. Garrett Browning, who claimed last month’s WPGA Four-Ball Championship, will be in the field, as will Alec Stopperich, who earned Individual Champion honors at this month’s Jamison Cup.

The 45th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, which is for players ages 25 and older, will be held at Sand Valley Resort in Nekoosa, Wisconsin from September 26 to October 1.

Mystic Rock — one of two courses at Nemacolin — provides a championship caliber experience for players. The Pete Dye designed course hosted the PGA Tour’s 84 Lumber Classic from 2003 to 2006.
